The Rosary on the Borders initiative

Following the recent 100th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady in Fatima, several countries throughout Europe and the whole world have organized rosary prayers on their borders to respond to the numerous requests of Our Lady in Heaven.
In Belgium we also wish to do the same. Each year, in various places across Belgium and the world and with the intentions set out below, the Rosary will be prayed on the first Saturday of the month of October. We will pray the rosary together on a border or anywhere else in the country. You can even join us from abroad, by uniting your prayers with those of the Belgian rosary.

You can create and lead a group or else you can join an existing group.

The Intentions of the Rosary

We shall pray especially for the revival of the Faith in Belgium and for our adherence to the Catholic faith that God Himself came to teach us. We shall also ask Our Lady for the grace to rebuild a real culture of life in Belgium, for the conversion of sinners, for peace of heart for all people and countries, and for unity within the Church of Christ. The rosary is the most powerful Peace initiative.

The Church

Cardinal Josef De Kesel carries this project in payer. This initiative of this national Rosary expresses our desire to show the public side of the Catholic faith in Belgium, and therefore it accords with the call of Cardinal Robert Sarah, when he came to Brussels to give a lecture.

Be firm in your Faith. Don’t let yourselves be drowned in the world of today. Live in the world but don’t follow the world. Don’t be ashamed of the Gospel. Let us be courageous and awaken our Faith. Give support to the faithful who undergo persecution…
Without me, you can do nothing (John 15,5)”

[Cardinal Robert Sarah, Our Lady of Stockel, February 2018]

Le patronage

We entrust this project to the protection of Our Lady of Beauraing who told us :

“Pray, pray a lot, …. pray all the time ….. I shall convert sinners. Do you love my Son ? Do you love me ? Then, make sacrifices for me.”

Why on the borders ?

To allow each and everyone to gather and live this event concretely and in greater numbers, it will be possible to meet on the borders (blues thumbnails on the map) or inside the country (red thumbnails) or from abroad (yellow thumbnails), in churches or outside, in town or in the countryside. Praying the Rosary on the borders symbolizes the love of the people for their country, but also their desire to create a link between the countries, through Faith and radiance of prayer.
